Connecting Your Bank Accounts

Securely link your financial accounts to Prism Wallet

Connecting your bank accounts is the foundation of getting the most out of Prism Wallet. Transactions are imported automatically so you can track spending without manual entry.

How to Connect an Account

  1. Go to the Accounts tab
  2. Tap Connect Account or the + button
  3. Search for your bank or financial institution
  4. Select your institution from the list
  5. You'll be redirected to your bank's login page via Plaid
  6. Enter your bank credentials (sent directly to your bank, never stored by Prism)
  7. Complete any multi-factor authentication your bank requires
  8. Select which accounts you want to link
  9. Wait for the initial sync to complete

After connecting, your transactions will begin syncing automatically.

Supported Account Types

Prism Wallet supports most types of financial accounts:

  • Checking accounts
  • Savings accounts
  • Credit cards
  • Investment and brokerage accounts
  • Loan accounts

We support over 13,000 financial institutions through Plaid.

Adding a Manual Account

For accounts that aren't supported through Plaid or that you prefer to track manually:

  1. Go to the Accounts tab
  2. Tap Create Manual Account
  3. Enter the account name, type, and current balance
  4. Save the account

Manual accounts don't sync automatically. You'll need to update balances and add transactions yourself.

Adding Assets

Track non-financial assets to get a complete picture of your net worth:

  1. Go to the Accounts tab
  2. Tap Create Asset
  3. Choose the asset type (real estate, vehicle, collectible, crypto, etc.)
  4. Enter the asset name and estimated value
  5. Save the asset

Update asset values periodically to keep your net worth accurate.

Reconnecting an Account

If your bank connection expires or your credentials change:

  1. Go to the Accounts tab
  2. Look for accounts with a warning indicator
  3. Tap the affected account
  4. Tap Reconnect
  5. Re-enter your bank credentials through Plaid
  6. The connection will be restored and transactions will resume syncing

Disconnecting an Account

To remove a connected account:

  1. Go to the Accounts tab
  2. Tap the account you want to disconnect
  3. Access the account settings
  4. Tap Disconnect Account
  5. Confirm the disconnection

Your historical transaction data remains in the app unless you explicitly delete it.

Connection Security

Credentials

  • Your bank login credentials are handled directly by Plaid
  • Prism never sees or stores your bank passwords
  • All connections use bank-level encryption

Read-Only Access

  • Prism Wallet has read-only access to your accounts
  • We cannot move money, make payments, or initiate any transactions
  • We only sync transaction and balance data

Syncing

Automatic Syncing

Connected accounts sync automatically throughout the day. New transactions typically appear within a few hours of posting at your bank.

Manual Sync

Pull down on the Accounts or Transactions screen to trigger a manual sync.

Apple FinanceKit (iOS)

On supported iOS devices, you can also sync data through Apple's FinanceKit for additional account coverage.
