What is Prism Wallet?
Prism Wallet is a personal finance app that connects to your bank accounts to automatically track transactions, manage budgets, monitor your net worth, and provide insights into your financial health.
Which banks are supported?
We support over 13,000 financial institutions through Plaid, including major banks, credit unions, investment firms, and credit card companies.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Bank credentials are handled directly by Plaid and never stored by Prism. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We have read-only access and cannot move money or make changes to your accounts.
Is Prism Wallet available on Android?
Yes, Prism Wallet is available on both iOS and Android.
Getting Started
How do I connect my bank account?
- Go to the Accounts tab
- Tap Connect Account
- Search for your bank
- Enter your credentials through Plaid's secure interface
- Select which accounts to link
How long does syncing take?
Initial sync typically completes within a few minutes. After that, transactions sync automatically throughout the day, usually appearing within a few hours of posting at your bank.
Can I use the app without connecting a bank?
Yes. You can add manual accounts, create assets, and enter transactions manually. However, connecting accounts provides the best experience with automatic transaction import.
Features
How do budgets work?
Create a budget for a spending category or specific merchant, set a limit and frequency (weekly/monthly/yearly), and the app tracks your spending against it automatically. You'll get alerts when approaching or exceeding your limit.
How does the gamification system work?
Earn XP by using the app daily, staying within budgets, categorizing transactions, and improving your financial habits. Level up and unlock badges as you progress. Maintain a daily login streak for bonus rewards.
What are recurring transactions?
The Recurring tab tracks subscriptions, bills, and regular payments. You can set up reminders before due dates and see all upcoming payments in a calendar view.
Can I track investments?
Yes. Connect investment accounts to see your holdings, including individual positions, current values, cost basis, gains/losses, and dividend history.
What are ledgers?
Ledgers let you organize accounts into separate groups (e.g., personal vs. household). You can switch between ledgers to filter which accounts and transactions you're viewing.
Subscription & Billing
How much does Prism Wallet cost?
Prism Wallet offers monthly and annual subscription plans. View current pricing in the app on the subscription screen.
Is there a free trial?
You can use Demo Mode to explore all features with sample data before subscribing. This lets you try the full app experience without commitment.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel through your device's app store:
- iOS: Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions > Prism Wallet > Cancel
- Android: Play Store > Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Cancel
What happens if I cancel?
Access continues until the end of your billing period. After that, you'll need to resubscribe to continue using the app.
How do I restore a purchase?
Tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account used for the original purchase.
Privacy & Security
Can you see my bank password?
No. Passwords are sent directly to your bank through Plaid. Prism never sees or stores your credentials.
Can Prism move my money?
No. We have read-only access only. We cannot initiate transactions, make payments, or move funds.
How do I enable Face ID / Touch ID?
Go to Settings > Security and toggle on Biometric Authentication.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings > Profile > Delete Account. You'll need to confirm by typing "Delete". All your data will be permanently removed.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Go to Settings > Export Data to download your transactions as CSV or TXF (tax software format).
Troubleshooting
My bank won't connect
- Verify credentials work on your bank's website
- Have your phone ready for two-factor authentication

Transactions aren't appearing
- New transactions can take a few hours to sync
- Pull down on the screen to manually refresh
- Check that the account doesn't show a connection error
Budget isn't tracking correctly
- Verify transactions are in the correct category
- Check the budget frequency (weekly vs. monthly)
- Tap the budget to see which transactions are included
I'm not getting notifications
- Check Settings > Notifications in the app
- Verify notifications are allowed in your device's system settings
- Check if Quiet Hours are enabled
